About Human Life
We should not be surprised when humans die suddenly in the depths of the ocean or on their way to, in, or from orbit around the earth. Humans need a regular in-and-out breath of oxygen, and cannot breath underwater or in the vacuum of space without man-made gear.
Man-made gear contains man-made imperfections.
We should not be surprised when humans die suddenly after flying in, or floating on, the air we breathe. Humans did not evolve with bodies capable of surviving impact speeds of around one hundred metres per second. The same applies to humans riding motor cycles or sitting in cars. Or trains.
Human Life as we know it, as it has developed slowly over hundreds of thousands of years, is strong, robust, durable, and dependable while it remains within the environment in which it evolved.
Move outside that constraint and all bets are off.
Which is why, given a choice, I would rather not go fishing for cod in a small open boat on the Atlantic Ocean, try bungee-jumping, downhill skiing, and a whole lot of supposedly fun and exciting activities.
I don’t need the excitement. I want to be home in time for supper.
